Medfield State Hospital

Medfield State Hospital is a sprawling, abandoned psychiatric campus with historical significance located a half an hour southwest of Boston. The grounds are open to the public for picnicking and exploring during daylight hours, but the buildings themselves are closed off due to safety concerns. It's an eerie yet oddly beautiful place that you may recognize from the film "Shutter Island".
